How to create a Brand sponsored Social Media post that doesn't look like an advertisement

If you’re one of 15.9 million followers of Scott Disick AKA @letthelordbewithyou on Instagram, you may have caught a glimpse of this post. Looks like he forgot to delete text reading “Here you go, at 4pm est, write the below caption”. Yikes! Definitely not what brands are wanting sponsored posts to look like.

BUT, do take notes from Laughing Chewbacca Mask Lady who's video featuring a kids Star Wars toy from Kohl's went viral in a matter of a day - breaking the record for number of views on Facebook Live!

Since her video went live, Amazon recorded that Chewbacca mask sales went up by 916,298% - talk about making an influence! Clearly (at least we assume), Candace AKA Laughing Chewbacca Mask Lady was not paid to make this video, but this is still a perfect example for how sponsored videos or posts should come across. Am I saying you need to make your audience laugh until they cry (not going to lie, I did when watching this) like Candace? No. But, even for those paid to review or talk about a product on YouTube or Instagram, this video is a perfect example for how to communicate your enthusiasm and love for a brand.

I also scoured up some of the best sponsored Instagram posts made by Revfluence creators, which are the perfect examples for what yours should look like when you post for a brand!

@breadbunnie x Nutiva

In this post, it's clear by the look of Chris's decadent Toasted Coconut Waffles, that she was able to successfully use Nutiva's buttery coconut oil, which they provided to her for her to review. She also went the extra mile by perfectly arranging her ingredients and plate of waffles for the picture, which looks like it came straight out of Martha Stewart's magazine!

By actually using a product and/or wearing it in your post, this provides your followers with a clear idea of what it actually looks like. Showing your followers how the product can be used will inspire and motivate them to purchase it!

@clarissamay x #FLOATY

Want to show some personality in your sponsored Instagram post? Take it from Clarissa who took her life-size inflatable unicorn #FLOATY out with her on the beach. Aside from using it in the ocean or pool, she captured how the unicorn can be used to lounge on the sand while enjoying some laughs with a girlfriend! Not sure about you, but I definitely want one of these floaty's now.
